Basketball Recap: Pennfield Wins Going Away Against Union City

Pennfield won the last time they faced Union City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pennfield Panthers were the clear victor by a 42-22 margin over the Union City Chargers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Despite the defeat, Union City saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nala Payne posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Payne is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Ellie Williams was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Pennfield's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Union City, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Pennfield will square off against Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Union City has already played their next game, a 64-44 defeat against Springport on the 30th.
