The Bristol Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Sunday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 81-68 to New Hope Academy. While losing is never fun, Bristol can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 456th in Pennsylvania, while New Hope Academy is ranked 123rd in Maryland).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Hope Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than DJ Thomas, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Jalen Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Bristol now has a losing record at 6-7. As for New Hope Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bristol will take on MAST Community Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. MAST Community Charter is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for New Hope Academy, New Hope Academy and Fairfax Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Fairfax Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games.
