The Evangel Christian Academy Lions''s four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past North River Christian 68-26 on the road. Considering Evangel Christian Academy has won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Evangel Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was DJ Mack out in front who rushed for 261 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Mack really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Another player making a difference was mekhi williams, who threw for 237 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Evangel Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for North River Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Evangel Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North River Christian will take on Cornerstone Christian at TBD on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Cornerstone Christian is ranked seventh, while North River Christian is ranked 13th).
