Hayes' defeat came about despite a quality game from Jake Lowman, who threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Brinkmoeller, who picked up 61 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Franklin Heights was the victim of a rough 37-13 defeat at the hands of Westerville South on Friday. Franklin Heights was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.
Despite their loss, Franklin Heights saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Giovanni Rufus, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all.
Hayes' loss dropped their record down to 7-2, while Franklin Heights' bumped their own down to the opposite: 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Hayes against Franklin Heights in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 38-0 win.
