There's no place like home for the Smidt Tech Grey Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Animo De La Hoya out 56-53. This was payback for Smidt Tech, who suffered a 54-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Smidt Tech found their leader in underclassman Aaron Merlos, who scored 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Merlos has scored at least 25% of Smidt Tech's points. Another player making a difference was Leo Pena, who scored 12 points.
Smidt Tech's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Animo De La Hoya, the last time they won on the road was back last Friday. Having now lost five straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 1-7.
Smidt Tech will face off against Annenberg at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Animo De La Hoya, they will be playing at home against Rise Kohyang at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
