Corona del Mar added to the longest winning streak in Pacific Coast this week by beating University, 35-3. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Sea Kings.
The Trojans fell to Corona del Mar 35-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brent Assayg caught 2 passes for 49 yards in the defeat.
Luke Napolitano provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Scott Meyer's team topped Mark Cunningham's team. He completed 17 passes for 155 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 36 yards. Napolitano's favorite target this week was Cole Collins, who caught 6 passes for 71 yards.
Alex Young was the best running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 92 yards as Woodbridge defeated the Trojans. Philip Hong also contributed to the rushing game with 64 yards on the ground.
Corona del Mar's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Sea Kings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Napolitano has thrown for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Collins has 31 catches for 539 yards.
Corona del Mar's Cole Martin is a mere 15 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 157 carries Martin has accumulated 985 yard this year.
As it stands, the Sea Kings are in first, while the Patriots are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Corona del Mar takes on Beckman. The Sea Kings have allowed 73 points this season, while Glen Fisher's team has given up 143. Corona del Mar allowed 3 points last week as it beat University.
The Warriors led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Northwood. Ryan Goodman threw for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 21 yards in the win.
