The Parkwood Wolf Pack will be playing at home against the Piedmont Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Parkwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matchups.
Even though Parkwood has not done well against Monroe recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Parkwood had just enough and edged Monroe out 59-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Parkwood has posted yet this season.
Parkwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron McKinney, who scored 27 points along with seven rebounds. McKinney hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Malik Paulhill, who scored 14 points along with five assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Piedmont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 83-23 win over Central Academy. Winning may never get old, but Piedmont sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Parkwood's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Piedmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.
Parkwood beat Piedmont 57-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Parkwood repeat their success, or does Piedmont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
