If the Flat Rock Rams were riding high off their 60-37 takedown of the Huron Chiefs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Flat Rock fell 45-33 to Grosse Ile on Thursday. Flat Rock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grosse Ile apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Flat Rock had strong showings from Mckenna Williams, who scored eight points along with four steals, and Lily Klein, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Klein has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.
Flat Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Grosse Ile, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flat Rock will take on Milan at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Grosse Ile won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trenton at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Trenton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
