They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-49 victory over Pinewood Christian. The team accrued 32 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Westminster Schools of Augusta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaliyah Terry, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Terry hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Aimee Spurlock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
The win was the fifth in a row for Westminster Schools of Augusta, bringing their record for this year to 18-4. As for Pinewood Christian, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
Westminster Schools of Augusta will take on Frederica Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Westminster Schools of Augusta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Pinewood Christian, they will square off against St. Andrew's at 5:03 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinewood Christian is coming into the matchup with five straight losses on the road, meaning St. Andrew's will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
