The Decatur Central Hawks lost against the Danville Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Decatur Central fell 61-48 to Danville. Decatur Central has struggled against Danville recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Danville was led to victory by Addison Davis and Emma Ancelet. Davis scored 23 points along with six rebounds, while Ancelet almost dropped a triple-double on 16 points, nine rebounds, and 11 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Danville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Walls, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Decatur Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Danville, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Decatur Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pike at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Pike is ranked 94th, while Decatur Central is ranked 105th). As for Danville, they will head out on the road to face off against North Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Montgomery is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
