Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Fort Dale Academy 42-3 on the road. Considering Lee-Scott Academy has won nine games by more than 25 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jonathan Meyers had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 139 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jake White, who gained 100 total yards and two touchdowns.
The win was the seventh in a row for Lee-Scott Academy, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Valiant Cross Academy and 1-10 Macon-East Montgomery Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.6% over those games). As for Fort Dale Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Lee-Scott Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Glenwood. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Glenwood is ranked 65th, while Lee-Scott Academy is ranked 77th). Fort Dale Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
