The win was all the more spectacular given String Theory's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the are ranked 103rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead String Theory to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Pezzetti, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Pezzetti has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played. Justus Robertson was another key contributor, scoring 24 points.
Despite the loss, Carver High School of Engineering & Science still got an impressive performance from Tali Simpkins, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Fareed Brown, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Carver High School of Engineering & Science were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as String Theory only racked up eight assists.
String Theory's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Carver High School of Engineering & Science, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-4.
