The LEAD Academy Lions had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by East Texas Homeschool Sports 66-16. LEAD Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-6.
Will Mason was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five steals for East Texas Homeschool Sports. The match was Mason's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Cox, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
LEAD Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LEAD Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on King's Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they will head out on the road to face off against Harleton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
