The Socastee Braves were the 37-36 winner over the St. James Sharks when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Socastee fell to St. James 35-30. Socastee's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Socastee still got an impressive performance from Anna Reese Pratt, who scored six points along with 18 rebounds and two steals. Pratt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.
Socastee's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for St. James, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Socastee will head out on the road to take on Conway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conway is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. St. James won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lee Central at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lee Central comes in on four and St. James on three.
