The Latta Vikings scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hannah-Pamplico with a sharp 65-40 victory. The victory was nothing new for Latta as they're now sitting on four straight.
Latta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shawniza Bethea, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Bethea has scored at least a third of Latta's points. Another player making a difference was Kardae Mcfadden, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
When it comes to explaining why Hannah-Pamplico lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jayla Graham. Despite the final result, she scored 34 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graham has scored all season.
Latta is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Latta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hannah-Pamplico, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake View at 6:15 p.m. on February 7th. Lake View will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Hannah-Pamplico surely won't give up without a fight.
