It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Kennedy Fighting Irish can now relate to. They fell just short of Xavier Prep by a score of 10-7.
Leading Xavier Prep to victory were Kingston Pellum and Braden Cervello. Pellum threw for 79 yards and a touchdown while completing 80% of his passes, while Cervello picked up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Kennedy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.7 points per game. As for Xavier Prep, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Xavier Prep also has no future games currently scheduled.
