Basketball Recap: Hope Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

On Tuesday, the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Jones Fightin' Tigers, taking the game 74-63. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojan Tigers.

Hope Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dwayne Foreman III, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Foreman III has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Griggs, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

Foreman III wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hope Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Hope Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-9. As for Jones, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Hope Academy will square off against Altamonte Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Altamonte Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season. Jones has already played their next game (against Olympia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
