The Crestview Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Niceville Eagles on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 63-62 to the Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (55), Crestview still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Crestview still got an impressive performance from Makhi Jones, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 48.4% of Crestview's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Klauser, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Niceville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Kowal, who scored 12 points. Anwar Conley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Niceville, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will take on Milton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Milton is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. Niceville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Walton at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th.
