The Meridian Hawks were the 66-56 winner over the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Meridian took a 73-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maroa-Forsyth. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meridian lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sebastian Hill, who scored 34 points along with six rebounds. Hill hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Brooks Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds.
Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Meridian will be playing at home against Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shelbyville has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last four matchups. As for Maroa-Forsyth, they will head out on the road to face off against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Olympia is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
