After flying high against Trinidad two weeks ago, Fannindel came back down to earth. The Fannindel Falcons were dealt a 70-25 loss at the hands of the Gold-Burg Bears on Thursday. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Fannindel still got an impressive performance from Noah Butler, who threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Butler also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending a pass.
Fannindel wouldn't let Gold-Burg keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Fannindel can thank Gavin Watson and Daylon Powell for forcing all of them.
Jayton Epperson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 254 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Gold-Burg. Those 254 rushing yards gave Epperson a new career-high. Paul Jones also helped out as he racked up 125 rushing yards.
Fannindel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Gold-Burg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Fannindel will face off against Forestburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fannindel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 31.5 points per game this season. Gold-Burg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
