The Southview Christian Conquerors pushed their score all the way to 76 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 84-76 to Victory Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (67), Southview Christian still had to take the loss.
Victory Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Gabriel Thompson, who scored 31 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least 25% of Victory Christian Academy's points. Lloyd Hampton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Southview Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-7. As for Victory Christian Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southview Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Matthews Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
