Covina has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They came up short against the Costa Mesa Mustangs, falling 10-1. The Colts' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Covina got a good showing from Izzaiah Seieroe, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Seieroe has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Covina saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Silva, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Covina's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Costa Mesa, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
