The St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints were the 69-61 winner over the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders when they last played one another back in December of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 50-49 to Riverdale Baptist. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why St. Stephen's & St. Agnes lost, one person who can't be blamed is Riley Jacobs. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Jacobs is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Neal, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Riverdale Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Landon at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Landon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games. As for Riverdale Baptist, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Grace Brethren Christian at 7:00 p.m.
