There's no place like home for the Harding County Ranchers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Tiospaye Topa 70-34 at home on Thursday. Harding County pushed the score to 63-26 by the end of the third, a deficit Tiospaye Topa cut but never quite recovered from.
Payton Dvorak was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last eight times he's played. Nayati Bickerdyke was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Harding County's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Tiospaye Topa, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hettinger/Scranton at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Harding County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. As for Tiospaye Topa, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lemmon at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Lemmon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Tiospaye Topa likes a good challenge.
