Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Chester Yellowjackets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Jonesboro 64-0 on Thursday. The low total for Chester limited their streak of high-flying scores to six in a row.
It was another big night for DeMarcus Acoff, who rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns. Luke Stephenson also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Chester's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Jonesboro, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.
Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jonesboro will be playing at home against May at 5:00 p.m. on November 25th. May is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
