The Piketon Redstreaks will head out to face off against the Zane Trace Pioneers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Piketon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
Piketon came out on top against Paint Valley on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Redstreaks never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Redstreaks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Heath, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Kenley Maynard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Piketon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Zane Trace hadn't done well against Westfall recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-5 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Pioneers considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Brynn Wipert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Haylynn Boggess-Pierce was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Carlie Clark was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Piketon's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Zane Trace, their record now sits at 6-8.
Zane Trace's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Piketon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. It's a different story for Zane Trace, though, as they've only averaged .234. Will they be able to contain Piketon's hitters?
Piketon skirted past Zane Trace 1-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redstreaks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
