Softball Recap: Providence Academy Has No Trouble Against Union Christian Academy

Providence Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Union Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Eagles 19-9. Considering the Patriots have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Providence Academy got a massive performance out of Ellie Keen, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Camden Griggs was another key player, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4.

Providence Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Providence Academy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Union Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Academy will venture away from home to square off against Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Destiny Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
