Jayke Glidden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Bogart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sean Cozza, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Meanwhile, Keene faced Bishop Guertin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Blackbirds fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Blackbirds just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Fitch Hennessey put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Hennessey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Colin Tinnin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Brattleboro now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Keene, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
