Baseball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Wins Going Away Against Sheboygan North

Notre Dame Academy put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Sheboygan North Golden Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Tritons, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Drew Magnuson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Christian Collins and Jack Frelich did most of the damage at the plate: Collins went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Frelich went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most runs Collins has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Guyette, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Notre Dame Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sheboygan North, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Notre Dame Academy will take on Appleton East at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Sheboygan North, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Green Bay Southwest at 4:30 p.m.
