Football Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Hickory Grove Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Harrells Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Hickory Grove Christian Lions as they made off with a 41-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight games by 20 points or more so far this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jarrod Miller and Jeremiah Davis. Miller rushed for 185 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.3 yards per carry while Davis rushed for 167 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 103.5 rushing yards per game.

Harrells Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 430 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Harrells Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Dashaun McKoy.

Harrells Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points over those games. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Harrells Christian Academy will challenge High Point Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 45 points per game this season. Hickory Grove Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
