Even though the Regents Lions have not done well against the Tandem Friends Badgers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Regents came out on top against the Badgers by a score of 64-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Regents.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Regents to victory, but perhaps none more so than David Keppel, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keppel has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josh Morales, who scored 18 points.
Despite the defeat, Tandem Friends saw an underclassman step up: Sincere ?Sinn? Fordham scored 23 points. Alden Scott was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Regents' victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Tandem Friends, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Regents will head out on the road to face off against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. United Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Lions are ranked 161st). As for Tandem Friends, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on January 31st. Fredericksburg Academy is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
