The Franklin Towne Warriors waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Thomas A. Edison with a 45-41 win. This was payback for Franklin Towne, who suffered a 72-62 loss the last time these two teams met.
Brandon Leaks was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with two steals. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Josh Skeete was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Thomas A. Edison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andre Roberts, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Ernan Rivera, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Franklin Towne's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Thomas A. Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin Towne will face off against the Bobcats at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Franklin Learning Center is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Thomas A. Edison, they and the Cougars will face off at 4:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Martin Luther King focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
