On Friday Meeker take on Okemah at 7:00 PM. Meeker have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Meeker put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season last Friday. They made easy work of Chandler and carried off a 42-12 win. Junior Jacob Martin was the offensive standout of the match for Meeker, as he accumulated 181 passing yards and punched in 2 rushing TDs. Martin has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, if Okemah were riding high off their 70-32 takedown of Holdenville two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Okemah fell to Prague 22-29. Okemah's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Meeker's victory lifted them to 5-1 while Okemah's loss dropped them down to 4-2. We'll find out if Meeker can add another positive mark to their record or if Okemah can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Meeker's step.
