Richfield hasn't had much luck against Emery recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will host the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
If Richfield beats Emery with 21 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 21-14 margin over Delta on Thursday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 3, 2022, but that streak is no more.

The team relied heavily on Macie Barton, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and two stolen bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jerzy Moon was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-5.
Richfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Emery). They put the hurt on Juan Diego Catholic with a sharp 16-1 victory on Saturday. With that win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Kallee Lake made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lake was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Emery let Aleeyah Cowley and Bailey Luke run wild. Cowley went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs, while Luke scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Nielson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Emery has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Richfield, they pushed their record up to 7-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Emery's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Richfield has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Emery, though, as they've only averaged .354. Will they be able to contain Richfield's hitters?
Richfield suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Emery when the teams last played back in March. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
