The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 83-33 loss at the hands of Pinnacle. While losing is never fun, Mountain Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Pinnacle is ranked 12th).
Several Mountain Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaliyahna Baldwin, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gloria Hines, who scored ten points.
Norah Moo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pinnacle, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Moo is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rylee Fraley-Gonzales, who scored 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
Mountain Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Pinnacle, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-6.
Mountain Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pinnacle also has no future games currently scheduled.
