Grand Valley and Meeker are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Grand Valley Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Meeker Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Grand Valley sitting on four straight wins and Meeker on eight.
Grand Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Olathe with points to spare, taking the game 70-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Andrew Horner and Porter Ostermiller were among the main playmakers for Grand Valley as the former dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds and the latter shot 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ostermiller has scored all season. Michael Fredrich was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Meeker can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 64-26 victory over Vail Mountain. With Meeker ahead 30-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Grand Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Meeker, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Grand Valley came up short against Meeker when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 55-49. Can Grand Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
