The Orange County Fighting Hornets suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Charlottesville 81-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orange County has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Orange County still got an impressive performance from Laney Fayard, who scored seven points along with four steals. Chloe Hebert was another key contributor, scoring four points.
This is the second loss in a row for Orange County and nudges their season record down to 11-5. As for Charlottesville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange County will face off against Fluvanna County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fluvanna County is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Charlottesville, Charlottesville and Albemarle will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Albemarle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Charlottesville is ranked 29th).
