Shorewood is 2-8 against Edmonds-Woodway since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Stormrays will square off against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Shorewood barely beat Monroe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Stormrays put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 9-3 win on Monday.

Shorewood got a massive performance out of Kanata Barber, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Barber a new career-high. Jameson Connolly was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Shorewood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Edmonds-Woodway waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Royals get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory.
Edmonds-Woodway also got a great performance from William Alseth as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Alseth has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Edmonds-Woodway let Luke Boland and Andreas Simonsen run wild. Boland got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Simonsen went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Trevelyan Podawiltz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Shorewood has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Edmonds-Woodway, their record is now 13-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Shorewood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Edmonds-Woodway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Shorewood might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Edmonds-Woodway in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Stormrays avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
