Montgomery Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josh Griffin led the charge by rushing for 136 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Griffin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Mccreary, who threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Dale County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.3 points per game. As for Montgomery Catholic, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Dale County will head out on the road to face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Booker T. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dale County in Alabama (Booker T. Washington is ranked 110th, while Dale County is ranked 233rd). As for Montgomery Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Andalusia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Andalusia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
