The St. John's Prep Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Leominster at home to the tune of 42-7. Considering St. John's Prep has won seven matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Despite the loss, Leominster saw an underclassman step up: Osiris Lopez rushed for 121 yards on only 14 carries.
St. John's Prep's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.9 points per game. As for Leominster, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.
St. John's Prep will square off against Boston College High at TBD on Friday. Leominster will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Fitchburg at 6:30 p.m. on November 22nd. Fitchburg comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
