Matthew Wolfinger looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Samuel Craig was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
The Villages Charter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as IMG Academy Blue struck out 15 times.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lecanto). They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over Nature Coast Tech on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.
The team relied heavily on Trey Hendrickson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Lecanto is 2-1 when Hendrickson posts two or more runs, but 3-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brenden Marcic, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Lecanto's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for The Villages Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 18-4.
