After flying high against the Malvern Hornets  last Monday, the Catholic Central Crusaders came back down to earth. Catholic Central took a serious blow against Oak Glen on Wednesday, falling  74-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss Catholic Central has suffered  yet this season.
 Catholic Central lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Ella Maragos, who  scored 18 points along with two  steals. Maragos has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anna Arai, who  dropped  a double-double on 15 points and 16  rebounds.
  Kami Ward was  her usual excellent self,  scoring 32 points along with five  steals for Oak Glen. That makes it five consecutive games in which  Ward has scored at least a third of Oak Glen's points.  Reecelyn Craig was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with ten  rebounds and five  steals.
 Catholic Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Oak Glen, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catholic Central will stay at home for another  game and welcome Madonna at 11:00  a.m.  on January 13th. Madonna presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Catholic Central in their respective states (Madonna is ranked 110th in West Virginia, while Catholic Central is ranked 386th in Ohio). As for Oak Glen, they will look to defend their home court  on Monday against Brooke at 7:30  p.m. Brooke comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
