The Orem Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Timpview Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Orem comes in on four and Timpview on five.
Last Friday, Orem didn't have too much trouble with Maple Mountain on the road as they won 68-54. That's two games straight that Orem has won by exactly 14 points.
Orem's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chance Dastrup led the charge by scoring ten points along with nine assists and two steals. Dastrup hasn't dropped below eight assists for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kai Wesley, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Timpview beat Springville 56-52 on Friday.
Orem pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Timpview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Orem came up short against Timpview in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 47-34. Can Orem avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
