The Pine Ridge Panthers lost against the Deltona Wolves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Pine Ridge fell 55-48 to Deltona. Pine Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jyles Newman and Canyon Powers certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Newman scored 11 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds, while Powers scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Elijah Laird was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Pine Ridge now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Deltona, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Ridge will challenge Spruce Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce Creek is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Deltona, they will head out on the road to face off against DeLand at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
