The Christian Academy Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the West Washington Senators on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to the Senators. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Christian Academy came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while West Washington is ranked 372nd).
Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being David Cook, who scored 29 points. Cook continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Joshua Renfro was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for West Washington, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11.
Christian Academy will take on Crothersville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for West Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Orleans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orleans will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something West Washington surely won't give up without a fight.
