The Barnwell Warhorses gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Blackville-Hilda as Barnwell made off with a 67-47 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Barnwell also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Barnwell found their leader in underclassman Vashahd Scofield, who scored 19 points. Jamarcus Coleman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Barnwell's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Blackville-Hilda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Barnwell won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 8:00 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Bamberg-Ehrhardt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
