It was a good run, but the Antioch Sequoits unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 57-48 to Grayslake Central. Antioch lost against Grayslake Central in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-41 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Antioch saw an underclassman step up: Heidi Rathmann scored 20 points. The match was Rathmann's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Macie Volkmar, who scored eight points.
Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Grayslake Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch's road trip will continue as they head out to face Grayslake North at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Grayslake North is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Grayslake Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakes is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
