The Murray Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Taylorsville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Murray will be strutting in after a victory while Taylorsville will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Highland scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, Murray still came out on top. Murray snuck past Highland with a 70-64 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Murray.
Among those leading the charge was Quinton Christman, who scored 26 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deacon Poole, who scored 7 points.
Meanwhile, Taylorsville couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Park City on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Taylorsville in their matchups with Park City: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Taylorsville got a solid performance out of Kobe Allen, who scored 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bronson Dallimore, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Their wins bumped Murray to 2-0 and Highland to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Murray against Taylorsville when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 100-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Murray since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
