The Andrews Yellowjackets lost against the Mullins Auctioneers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Andrews took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auctioneers. Andrews has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Andrews' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sharod Sumpter, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Rhue, who scored seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mullins to victory, but perhaps none more so than JJ Davis, who scored 20 points along with four steals and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Davis posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Ernest Ford, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Andrews' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Mullins, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kingstree the next time they take the court. Andrews will host the Blazers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Auctioneers will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
