The Mainland Buccaneers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 62-0 victory over Satellite at home. Considering Mainland has won seven games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Dennis Murray jr. was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Corey Hill was another key contributor, rushing for 41 yards and two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Mainland's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for ten sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Mainland's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Satellite, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Mainland will be playing in front of their home fans against Rockledge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Satellite does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
